Exosome Therapy

If you’ve been losing hair — whether gradually or rapidly — you’ve probably tried more than a few things. Exosome therapy is one of the most scientifically advanced treatments available today, and it’s something we offer with confidence at The Hair Clinic.

What are Exosomes?

Exosomes are tiny messengers produced naturally by your own cells. They carry instructions — in the form of growth factors, proteins, and genetic signals — from one cell to another. Think of them as the body’s internal communication system.

In hair restoration, we use highly purified exosomes derived from stem cells. When applied to the scalp, they deliver a concentrated set of signals directly to hair follicles that have become dormant or weakened, encouraging them to become active again.

Unlike some older treatments, exosomes don’t introduce foreign cells or synthetic chemicals into your body. They work by stimulating your own follicles to do what they’re designed to do.

What causes hair loss in the first place?

Most hair loss, whether from androgenetic alopecia (genetic hair thinning), stress, hormonal changes, or post-illness shedding — comes down to the same basic problem: the follicles are still there, but they’ve stopped producing hair efficiently.

Follicles don’t disappear overnight. They shrink, produce thinner hair, and eventually go dormant. The window to treat them matters, which is why we recommend starting sooner rather than waiting to see how bad it gets

How exosomes help

Reactivates dormant follicles

Signals follicles in the resting phase to re-enter the active growth phase.

Reduces scalp inflammation

Chronic inflammation is a key driver of follicle miniaturisation. Exosomes actively calm this process.

Improves blood supply

Encourages new capillary growth, improving nutrient delivery to the follicle.

Protects existing hair

Slows further miniaturisation and strengthens the hairs you still have.

What to expect at The Hair Clinic

Comprehensive consultation
A thorough scalp assessment and medical history review. We use trichoscopy to examine your follicles at a clinical level before recommending any treatment.

Treatment preparation
The scalp is cleansed and a topical anaesthetic is applied to ensure comfort. The procedure itself takes approximately 45–60 minutes.

Exosome application
The exosome solution is delivered into the scalp using micro-injections or a microneedling device, depending on your specific protocol. This ensures direct delivery to the follicle level.

Recovery and aftercare
There is minimal downtime. Most patients return to normal activity the same day. You’ll receive clear written aftercare instructions and a scheduled follow-up.

Progress review
We photograph and document your results at each visit. Most patients begin to notice reduced shedding within 6–8 weeks, with visible improvement in density typically at the 3–4 month mark.
